FINAL CALL

An angel in the sky must leave his place of rest,
gently tucking his wings beneath his armored vest.
For duty has called, there is much work to do,
little did He know, this one’s dressed in blue.
Arriving on the scene, He knows just what to say,
"Follow me my fallen Brother, I’ll show you the way".
"Your duty here has ended, now your work is through".
"Come rest your hat beside mine...for I’m a cop too".

To the Holmes family...... know that he died doing something he loved and believed in,which was protecting his community and his family. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. God bless the Holmes family.

Detective Sergeant Matt L. Rudiger

Trooper Holmes stopped by JP1 often to check the status of tickets he had written and to keep us updated with any information he thought we might need to know. The last time he was in our office was a week and half ago. He came in and we knew his wife is pregnant and we asked how she was feeling. He glowed when he talked about her. He was extremely excited talking about the upcoming birth of their first baby girl. I can't really remember what he said her first name would be, but her middle name was going to be Faith. Todd believed that they were having a girl because they simply prayed for her. He has three young boys and the couple prayed for a girl and God was providing. He talked about his wife with such admiration and respect. He said she was an absolutely wonderful wife and an even better mother. I told him that he was a good man and a great husband for sharing that with people. I explained that it isn't often that you hear men praise their wives and I wanted him to know that it was commendable for him to be so open and honest about the love of his wife. Trooper Holmes did his job very well and we often joked that he would give his own grandmother a ticket. He would say, "Well, if she was breaking the law, then she deserved a ticket." I knew that if I had a question about a violation and wanted to know the code and definition, he would be the one to call. If he didn't know it off hand, he would find it. Todd Holmes was a great man, husband, father, Trooper, and friend. He will be missed and never forgotten.
