I was playing softball in the Nevada Police Games in Las Vegas last August (2005) when I received word that two of our officers, Mike King and Richard Smith, had been shot and killed in Albuquerque. Word spread quickly throughout the event; a prayer was held on the field for their families. I receievd an outpouring of suppport from all the competitors, including many from LVMPD.

I wish I was there to offer the same support and prayers that were offered to me this past summer.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of god - Matthew 5:9

Sergeant Prendas - Rest well my brother

Our hearts and prayers are with you in your time of terrible grief. We know only too well your pain of loss.

My son, Kevin, has a very good friend with Las Vegas Law Enforcement but I do not know his name. Kevin loved to go to Vegas each year with his family.

No words can help you with your pain, but know that we offer our support during this time, and the road ahead.

May God bless the family, friends, and fellow LEO's of Sergeant Prendes.
