A tragic accident results in the loss of an officer's life. But it was not in vain for he was assisting others in apprehending a felon. Rest in peace, Patrolman Diaz, your service will be remembered.

Words cannot express the heartache of seeing another officer down. Having lost my husband this year, I can truly understand the pain your family is going through right now. Please take some comfort in knowing that Jose died doing the job he loved. He is your Special Angel now. May he reach down from heaven and comfort you in your time of need. My most heartfelt condolances to your family.

Jose was a great cop and friend. I am proud to have worked with him. We shared one thing in common, we both were cops in New York and had the opportunity to work in the FLPD. He always had a positive out look on the job. The job and the community has lost a good and dedicated officer.
