I live in South District. I met Officer Laird twice and thought him to be a top notch cop. I pray for him and his family. He was a good guy, whose life was ended too short. I am sure all of us will miss his kind and reassuring watchful eye in our neighborhood. Rest in peace our friend. You did good, and good things for all of us!

Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Officer Laird for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

"One thing I know: the only ones among you that will be truly happy are those that have sought and found a way to serve." Albert Schweitzer
Officer Timothy Laird sought and found his way to serve. I thank him for his service to his community, and I thank his family for standing with him during his years of service.
His earthly service is over, but rest assured that he watches over you still.
Nothing can replace your officer, but I pray that your memories of him in happy times will help to ease the pain you're feeling now.
God speed, Brother; you will not be forgotten.
God bless the four officers who were with Officer Laird.

I grew up in Anderson and when I called my mother to let her know about the recent death of Ofc Jon Walsh in Joliet, IL, I was told of Ofc. Laird's death. To all at the Indianapolis Police Dept. my thoughts and prayers are with you. I unfortunately know all too well what all of you are going through, as we are going through it here in Joliet. Such a loss is so hard to understand, may God and his new angels watch over all of us.
Ofc Laird, please watch over my friend Ofc. Jon Walsh. God must have needed the both of you for his "force" up in Heaven.

As I remember the terror of that god awful night 1 week ago being woke up to the sound of gunfire outside my window, I can not forget the heros in blue who literally saved my life. Your fellow officers and community members really showed their gratitude towards you and your line of work on Monday at the Funeral of a Hero. May God Bless you and your family especially your daughter Kaylee who will have her hero in her heart forever. THANK YOU!!!!!

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the hills, from the lake,
From the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.

Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day, And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well; Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise, For our days,
'Neath the sun, Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know,
God is nigh.

Revelation 21:3-4 " And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away."

Aloha from your Officers in Honolulu, you have given your life in the line of duty to serve and protect your City and the USA. Now you have been promoted to Guardian Angel and protector of us all
it takes a very special person to become a police officer because we have to wear all kinds of other hats and we see, heard things which no other persons has to see and hear and we work
long long hours. That why it takes a special person to become a law enforcement officer. Thank you and Aloha till we someday well met in heaven
