"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifing rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep."
- Mary Frye

My most sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Ofc.Sawyers. Your heartfelt stories and rememberances at the funeral service made it clear why so many loved Mark as they did. To my Brothers and Sisters in Sterling, know that you are in our hearts and prayers. Seeing the pain you are feeling over the past few days tears my heart apart, but know that we will all work together to find this scumbag and bring him to justice...justice for Mark, for his family, and for the Brotherhood. God Speed, Mark, and God Bless.

My deepest sympathy, prayers and condolances to officer Sawyer's family and his fellow officers and may God look over them.
Since our political lawmakers have often sidestepped the call for capital punishment when officers are murdered why don't we unite in an effort to make it a Federal Crime punishable by death which would perhaps more attainable from congress.
I wouldcertainly help this effort.

Warren Police Department

Dont think of him as gone away, his journeys just begun
Life holds so many faucets, this earth is only one
Just think if him as resting from the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years
Just think of how he must be wishing how you could know today
That nothing but your sadness can really pass away
Just think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched
For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much

I WOULD LIKE TO RELAY MY SIBCERE CONDOLENCES TO TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DURING THIS TIME . I WENT TO HAZEL PARK HIGH SCHOOL AND KNEW MARK AS WELL AS PLAYING FOOTBALL WITH HIM. I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF MARK FOR HIS HEROIC COURAGE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN HIS LIFE AND AS A FATHER AND POLICE OFFICER.IN OUR PROFESSION I HAVE SEEN DEATH MANY TIMES IN MY ROLE AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER,YET WHEN IT'S A FRIEND OR LOVED ONE IT BECOMES GENUINELY REAL. IN MARK I FEEL SOLITUDE, THAT HE WILL FOREVER REMAIN A HERO AND PATRIOT.LET MARK CONTINUE TRANQUILLITY IN HIS OCCUPATION THAT GAVE HIM HAPPINESS AS A POLICE OFFICER AND AS A FATHER. GOD BLESS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

SINCERELY,

The lion at the gate is now sleeping but stays ever watchful. A warrior who did not choose but has made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect others. May Officer Sawyers be honored in the highest regard and may his family some day find peace in knowing he is in Heaven.
