My heart sank as I saw Officer Sawyers name on ODMP this morning. My thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends of Officer Sawyers. Rest in peace, sir. You will never be forgotten.

Dear Sawyers Family and Friends,

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Only a coward would shoot a police officer. I hope to read about justice being served and the coward being captured. Please take some comfort in two verses from the Bible: " Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted." Matt. 5:4 and " Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the Children of God." Matt. 5:9. God Bless.

The Wayne County Detectives Association offers its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and law enforcement colleagues of Officer Sawyer.
