Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David William March

DEPUTY MARCH,

I AM SORRY FOR YOU BEING GONE, AND I AM SORRY I AM JUST NOW GETTING AROUND TO WRITING THIS MESSAGE. I WANT TO EXPRESS MY APOLOGY TO YOU FOR MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND SENSE. SHORTLY AFTER YOUR LIFE WAS TAKEN, I WAS SEARCHING A HOUSE ONE NIGHT IN THE HEART OF EAST LA, WHEN I CAME ACROSS YOUR KILLER. WHILE DOING A HOUSE SEARCH I CAME ACROSS A HOUSE FULL OF GANG MEMBERS. ONCE I FOUND MY BAIL FUGITIVE AND IN TRANSPORT TO THE JAIL, THE FUGITIVE ASKED ME WHY I DIDN'T TAKE MR. GARCIA, THE GUY SITTING ON THE COUCH. MY FUGITIVE EXPLAINED TO ME LATER THAT NIGHT HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR GUNNING DOWN A DEPUTY. I WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW SORRY I AM FOR LETTING YOUR KILLER SLIP THROUGH MY FINGERS. I GUESS I WAS IN A HURRY THAT NIGHT.

IF YOU GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO FIND HIM I WILL. AS OF THIS MOMENT, I CAN'T FIND HIM. POINT ME TO THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND LOCATION in MEXICO AND I WILL GET HIM. TAKE CARE AND I KNOW YOU ARE LOOKING DOWN ON US KEEPING US SAFE. TAKE CARE BROTHER. REST IN PEACE...

You are not forgotten. The fight to get your murderer is far from over. As a fellow #290 classmate I will never forget. Rest in peace.

DAVE, I REMEMBER TALKING TO YOU THAT MORNING BEFORE YOU WENT 10-8, AND THE NIGHTMARE THAT FOLLOWED WHEN I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE INCIDENT. WE NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK TOGETHER BUT WE ALWAYS TALKED TO EACH OTHER BETWEEN OUR SHIFTS. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE GONE THROUGH THE ACADEMY AND PATROL TRAINING WITH YOU. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY PRAYERS. GOD BLESS CLASS #290 FOREVER. YOU AND TERI WILL GET YOUR JUSTICE.

Dupty March,
They showed your peace on americas most wanted again last night.
But they didn't say the part about Mexico not turning him over.I think that is harboring a terrorist,so lets sent in troops and bring him back.

October 3, 2004

Hey There Teri,

I hope this finds you in good spirits. I wanted to let you know even though we havent talked in a bit we still think of you often. It may have been a few years and people have gone on with their lifes, I wanted to let you know Bill and I still pray for you and your daughter and for Dave. We hope and pray you are comforted everyday when you get out of bed, and when you have to breath but it hurts so bad you just dont want to. I so wish I could make the pain go away Teri. I wish we could turn the hands of time and if not bring Dave back at least catch this jerk and you would have some end in sight. Like you said in our last talk together you are scared for not only my husband but all other law enforcement out there. Knowing the bad guys can run to mexico makes life a little more uneasy for us wifes of officers. I hope we can talk soon and my email is the same, please call me. I pray you are comforted and you know the Lord is with you always. We love you Teri. We know Dave is watching you and is very proud on how you have fought for him. I just wish the fight was over so you can breath a littler easier. Love ya girl..

The inability or unwillingness of our so called powerful government to bring this murderer coward to justice in this country is a disgrace and shame upon our land.
This Deputy dwells in the house of the Lord and he deserves justice.
Heros like Deputy March are never forgotten and their cause will go on until his killer is brought to justice.

Retired police officer.

It is an outrage that the murderer has not been brought back to the U.S. to answer for this intentional, heinous murder! I hope the killer is brought back as soon as possible to face the most harsh punishment allowable by California law.
You are a true hero who made the ultimate sacrifice. May the memory of your service, heroism and sacrifice remain forever. May God bless you, your family and brother/sister officers.

Every damn day when I think of what happened to you Dave, I see RED! I don't understand how we can call ourselves a "Great Nation" when our neighbors to the south will harbor evil bastards because our justice is "too harsh" I hope your soul can rest in peace because we sure as hell cannot! His time will come, and he will be made to pay! See you in the hereafter Brother!

Dear David, I am a fellow Deputy with LASD. I attended your funeral back in 2002. I just recently attended your "David March Rally" at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita last weekend, May 8 -04. It was the least I could do. I talked briefly with your dad and your wife Teri there. I told them my opinion about some of the reasons "WHY" our elected officials in Washington D.C. are not putting pressure on the Mexican government to help bring the suspect to justice. It seems the politicans are more concerned with global trade than getting justice for police officers and American citizens murdered by illegal aliens. It is apparent that your surviving family and friends are not giving up the fight, in your loving memory, to help make American Police Officers and citizens aware of all the other police officers and ordinary citizens gunned down by illegal aliens all over the United States. The "shooters" know all they have to do is simply "run for the border". Your death will not be in vain. Your family and friends and fellow police officers will keep the pressure on the politicans who talk the talk but do not walk the walk. God Bless your soul forever. May God Bless your wonderful family and may He ease their pain now and give them comfort. We all will never forget you Deputy David March, "SIR", I Salute You ! signed, Larry Breazeale, Deputy Sheriff, L.A.County Sheriff's Department, and Msgt.(ret.) USAFR ,Security Police

You just missed another birthday with Dave and soon his 2 years of leaving you will be here. And still no closure. I am sickend to say the least, we tried so hard here, signed petitions and sent them off. But still no answer for you. I am sorry my prayers havent worked for you and Kayla. I miss your talks we shared, and hope to catch up to you soon. But until then know you are not forgotten and always thought of here in our house hold. I am a lucky one, my husband was able to go back to work after being injured protecting the streets. I wish I could turn the hands of time back and bring Dave back to you. I know you miss him so much. I just hope you know we are thinking of you. Keep in touch and call me...

Dear Dave,

We roamed the same halls and drove the same patrol area a few years apart. Unfortunately you stopped a scum bag coward who ran to Mexico. From everything I have read and heard, everyone at our station and the Department who knew you were proud!! I wish I would have been lucky enough to meet you myself.

I am proud to say I work the same Department you did sir!

God bless you and you lovely wife.

May god bless you brother! Never did get to thank you for all those back's you gave me on the street when I was in the County.. Wish I could have been there for you!!!
God be with your family!

Ive kept the picture and information of your murderer on the wall of my den and carry it in my patrol car in case he ever came to Houston. I did not know until reading this today that he was in Mexico and they won't let us have him. I will never take it down until he is in a California prison waiting to be exterminated. I'm afraid I have no forgiveness left for those who harm my brothers. I have too many friends whose names are now posted on this same web site. My hope is that both you and your family have found peace. And I hope that someday you and your family will see justice carried out by the State of California.

To the officers who may read this: Don't be afraid of looking like a coward and not calling for backup.....as I have refused to do many times in the past for not wanting to "look bad". DON'T BE AFRAID TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO IN ORDER TO SURVIVE! I don't want to read any more new names on this site.

Dave,

We met one fateful day in July 1995 at the Academy. Six months later we graduated as Deputy Sheriff's. I never got a chance to see you since. The first one out of our class to perish in the line of duty and I am sure not the last. I am sad to see you go. I pray for the family you left behind. I pray that one day we will be able to exdradite the coward that took your life and is hiding in Mexico.

I am happy I was able to be at Washington D.C. when the President read out your name for all to hear.

God bless and watch over the March Family.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall gently upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I visit this site often. I visit fallen friends and colleagues.
I came across this entry and and wanted to offer a prayer for you and your family. God bless you and continue to look after your family and give them strength.

Thinking of you David as the anniversary of your departure nears. Your
killer can run, but he cannot hide from God. How foolish he is to think he
won't have to pay. Without repentence, he will pay dearly... and he
should.
David, it is so sad to think of your short life being over. You gave so
much and still had alot more to give and live... I'm so sorry you didn't
get to see all your dreams and desires fulfilled. I pray that those
remaining will be strengthen by the loving and supportive arms of our
dear Savior, who bled and died for our sins. Jesus is our healer, our
comforter and our friend. May His presence be felt sweetly by everyone
still grieving. God bless you as you relive the sad events of the past
year and may you be comforted by the memories of David that you
now cherish.

Dave (Mr. USC...haha...), I look at your picture almost every day. I will never forget the way you could always make me laugh, especially on my wedding day. I know how much it meant to you to serve as a police officer and how much you were looking forward to working in your hometown. I was always glad to have you around, and I felt protected when you were there. I cannot thank you enough for that one special thing you did for me, even though it might not have worked out, your best friend gave me the best seven years of my life. I love you and miss you so much.......I cannot wait to see you again someday!!! God Bless to the Entire March Family, my prayers are with all of you. Love, Nadine Taplin

Your life was a great service to man kind. I hope and pray for your family that they will feel you with them daily. I know you are with them. You are a "HERO" in my eyes and many others. You were taken so needless and ripped out of your familys life. I pray they will get the guy who did this and by doing so close some doors for your family. I know this wont bring you back but just a closed door would help with their grieving.

I have had contact with your wife Teri, what a wonderful woman she is. She is so amazing. We have been emailing back and forth and she has been helping me with a petition to catch this guy, she misses you terribly, and it shows in all her emails. She is so strong to follow through with this, I admire her.

God Bless your family Deputy March. It's been a great honor getting to know you more through Teri. What a honorable man you are. May your Teri have peace of mind soon...

Teri, I am always for you.... remember we are in this together now.. till the end... You and Kayla are still in my prayers.... :)

As I sit here reading the events surrounding Deputy March's MURDER, tears run down my face. The subject responsible was looking for an officer, any officer, to kill...and unfortunately Deputy March was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like many police officers, if you ran into Deputy March in heaven he would probably tell you that he's glad he took the bullet instead of one of his brothers in blue. And his co-workers still here would probably tell you that they wish they had taken the bullet instead. In an ideal world nobody would have had to take that bullet...but alas, we do not live in a perfect world. Our heroes are taken from us all too often...and the tears continue to run like an open faucet. God Bless you Deputy David March.

I just saw the profile on America's Most Wanted regarding the murder of Deputy March. I hope and pray that the scum bag who is responsible for this is brought to justice now. However, if he gets away for now, he will get caught by the ultimate judge and then no scummy defence lawyer is going to be able to get him off the charge. I am deeply sadened that such a good man was taken from his family by such a low life.

It's hard to remember at times like this that we will some day feel the Peace of God, that peace that Deputy March is already feeling, but we must work hard to remember that we will feel that peace and that He works in very mysterious ways to say the least.

My heart goes out to the widow and step son of this fine deputy who had found true love and had it ripped from them. I pray that justice will be done.
