I’m not LE. I just volunteer for The 100 Club of San Antonio. Through this nonprofit, I have come to know your family pretty well. They ALL are some of my favorite people! Wonderfully kind, helpful, thoughtful, and just simply GOOD! We just completed another “Rocky Run” and SWAT brought out their winning trophy to share for the day, in your remembrance. Since we (100ClubSA) now help out with your race event, your family wanted to include ALL heroes who were killed in the line of duty. One of many selfless acts from your family. We renamed it “The Run to Remember” and your family still does the majority of the work! Now…21 years later, I still get to hear stories about your wonderful life from your amazing family! I guess, I’m just writing to say…I feel blessed to know your family. They are such a blessing to so many people. So many people love and remember you! Unfortunately, this was the way I had to meet them…but I promise to always help with whatever I can for ALL of your family and extended family. May God continue to guide your family. May you rest in Heavenly peace.

Uncle Rocky,

I know we met but I don't remember but I know you do. I know you would hold me and sing to me the Indian song. I know you were a great man, loving husband, an amazing uncle, supportive father, great brother and overall an amazing son. We miss you so much but we will never stop talking about you. The stories everyone shares with us always make us feel like you're right there next to us. I wish I could have met you, but like everyone says God had bigger plans for you. We love you so much. I can't wait till the day I get to meet you. But for now just keep watching over us and protecting us. Gone but never forgotten.

Until we meet again...

16 years without my big brother. You are truley missed. You would be so proud of your kids. Mom and I were laughing about you and your dumb St Bernards. LOL! I am sure they are keeping you and dad busy up there in heaven. Heard Elton John on the way to work and couldn't help but lsmile, laugh and cry all at the same time. That sure was funny when grandma popped us in the head for listening too loud. Miss you and love you. Until we meet again....

I remember the day officer Riojas was killed. I was on my way to work to the Medical Center area that evening at about 5:00 PM. There were several SAPD patrol cars blocking the street I was driving on, so I had to take a detour. The next day I read the news of officer Riojas being killed in an apartment's parking lot while trying to stop a crime in progress.

Rocky
You were such a dear friend of mine and always there for me as a good friend before, during and after. I remember when you told me you were getting married and how overwhelmed of happiness you felt, I remember when you told me, you all were expecting your first baby and then again for baby no 2 your family made you so happy. I remember all the stories you shared while growing up. It's currently the holidays and two NY officers have fallen. Today I watched the news coverage in how hundreds attended and brought back sadness because I thought of your services. May you be everyone's guardian Angel. You are missed ❤️

Not sure why I was thinking of Rocky today. I think it was that I was thinking of all the good people that crossed my path in life and the positive influence that they had. Rocky was definitely one of them. I went to Elementary and Jr.High school with Rocky, a short time but definitely a period of childhood growth, learning and development. Even then, Rocky looked after each of his classmates, knew right from wrong and was always setting a good example for us. Even today it brings tears to my eyes remembering him. I was in Tokyo, Japan when my mother & sister called me and told me what had happened. feels like yesterday. My heart goes out to his sister, parents and to his loving family.
