Police Officer Robert Taylor was killed in a motorcycle crash while responding to a robbery call.
He and another motorcycle officer, who was also responding to the same call, collided at the intersection of Marshall Street and Susquehanna Avenue. Officer Taylor succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The other officer suffered serious injuries and recovered.
Officer Taylor was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for six years. He was survived by his mother, stepfather, and two brothers.
