David Larue Sandler
Sergeant David Sandler was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty after being struck by a vehicle making a left turn in front of him at an intersection. The driver of the vehicle was not charged after an investigation found that the headlight of Sergeant Sandler's motorcycle was not activated.
Sergeant Sandler had served with the Indianapolis Police Department for 24 years. He was survived by his wife, four daughters and six grandchildren.
