I was 18 months old when my father was killed, so I had no personal memory of him. But 65 years later [to the day]
the Borough of Hawthorne honored my father by naming a street in his honor and a Memorial Monument by the Police Station. I will remember that day forever.

On Sept 6, 2013 a Memorial Monument will be unveiled at Hawthorne Borough Hall for Patrolman John Meyers the only officer killed in the line of duty.
