Grandpa, I was only 3 1/2years old when you passed but I somehow remember you taking my brother and I to the nearby store and buying us candy and then giving each of us a half dollar. I told my parents this story and they confirmed it to be true. Although your anniversary has passed, my wife found this sight and I wanted you to know that I just wish I had got to know you. Thanks for your service to your community. R.I.P.

Your Grandson,
Steven

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

On the 54th anniversary of Deputy Denton's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Deputy Denton is not forgotten.
