I remember James Dickey. I was 15 when he was killed in Selmer. We went to his funeral. First person I has ever seen in a casket. My mother sold him some cologne in front of the courthouse a month before he was killed. Buford Pusser took over then. They said it was an accident, and his tire blew out. I know for a fact he was killed by other means...........It was no accident, he was murdered. I am 65 years old now, and I know. I will take this to my grave, but, I know. Period. He was a good man regardless of the time. Go look at Mr. Pusser and his BS. He harassed my dad and family and he killed our dog...........I saw it and was there. And it's never left me.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, 49th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
