Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

I THINK this is my grandmother's first husband!! Her maiden name is Effie Petrey, her second husband being Joe Lohre. From what I had heard her first husband was a cop in Corbin, and that would have surely been around 1920's. And from what I remember I thought they said he was shot in the course of some store robbery or some such thing. But the 3 or so times I've heard his name mentioned they called him 'Charles' rather than 'Charlie', so I'm not sure. Effie's first and only son is my dad, Terry Lohre. I was kind of under the impression Charlie was shot before Effie re-married. My dad was born in 1929 in Covington, KY. What a SAD story! Thank you for posting this!

possible 'step-grandson' I suppose??

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 79th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

May you find peace where you are. Tragedies that took you from your family are still taking place after all of these years. How senseless.

God bless you and your family, sir.
