Reflections for Conservation Officer Frank Stewart, Jr.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 33rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest in Peace, Officer Stewart. You are not forgotten.

I first met Officer Stewart when I was about 13 years old. I was deer hunting with my dad in T. R. Miller Managememt Area and met you then. You were a kind man and I liked you instantly. I saw you several times over the next few years and you always remembered me and spoke to me. I admired you a great deal. I was 17 when you were killed and remember feeling as if I had lost a very dear friend.

I later met your daughter at college. I don't remember ever telling her how much I admired you, but wish I had. You were part of the reason I became a law enforcement officer. Thanks for setting a wonderful example and I hope I can live up to that example.
