Deputy Fleshner was killed in an automobile accident on Georgia Highway 121 in Folkston, while responding to a call at 1640 hours.
The deputy was en route to assist another officer when he swerved to avoid a vehicle that entered his path. Deputy Fleshner lost control of his 2003 Ford Crown Victoria and struck a pine tree on the driver's side door, killing him on impact.
Deputy Fleshner had been employed with the Charlton County Sheriff's Department for 5 years. He is survived by his 5-month-old daughter.
