Reflections for Prison Guard Walter R. Doucette

Dear Grandpa,

Mom needs a porcelain doll with a little pushed in face........ I know you both remember...

Your great grandson retires from the Department of Corrections in January--- the end of a dynasty for the Department-- 4 generations... it all started with you. I am so sorry for what happened to you, and what happened to Ma and your children---you are a hero!

Love to all my departed ones.... Janice

Dear Grandpa,
You died 68 years ago tonight. I will always remember. Kiss Mom for me......

Dear Grandpa,
I never knew you, but heard about you all my life....... what a tragedy that you were killed Christmas Eve, leaving 6 children. Mom rarely spoke of it, but she told me that you took the inmates to a diner for a Christmas Eve dinner-- you wanted to do something nice for them-- and they somehow got your weapon. Today one officer would never be transporting two inmates, let alone in a taxi. These two died in Bridgewater, where three more generations of the family has worked.
Your life is still being celebrated, dear Grandpa. Mom has passed on now, and I trust she is with you. Kisses to you both on this Christmas Eve!
