Reflections for Police Officer James Muhlbauer

My deepest condolences to all the family and friends of Police Officer Jim Muhlbauer and K9 Champ. This just seems to happen too often, officers losing their life in traffic accidents while on patrol. I did not know them, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. Thank you for your service, RIP hero's.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Such a shame to be killed by a careless driver who hit the officers patrol car so hard that he killed the K9 Champ AND an innocent pedestrian and gave this Officer fatal injuries too! Naturally he lived. I hope justice is served and that driver is incarcerated for a very long time. Maybe I will be lucky enough to mett both K9 Champ and this fine Officer and be able to be assigned to the same unit as they are. May God Bless and keep them and his family in his arms.

How sad that once again we will bury a shining blue star who leaves behind a family and no doubt an agency that will grieve the loss of this twenty year veteran and his K9 partner. I have no doubt that Officer Muhlbauer was a valued member of the Kansas City, Mo. department whose loss will leave a chasm, not only for the PD but for the entire community. May God rest his soul and bless his family, now devastated by his loss.
