It's been a week! I was blessed to work with you for 8 years as your dispatcher. I've known you for over 19 years. I am so grateful that I was able to run into you a week before you passed. We picked back up where we left off. You were not only a boss but a friend. You were so close to retiring. I can't stop thinking about you. I truly never saw this happening to you. You were always safe and backed your guys up no matter what. I hope you are looking down on all of us. You were a protector on earth and now a protector in heaven. You are truly missed. Thank you for always taking care of 911. We love you and miss you.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
