Possibly the tragedy of your death will help your department establish absolute rules regarding the checking of weapons before training sessions. Your untimely death is shocking! As a longtime police officer and deputy sheriff, I cannot accept the loss of such a fine young man.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Ocala Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

All through my career (20 years) as a police officer I visited the ODMP page almost every day, reading the stories behind the losses. I read them still and am just as saddened to hear of those who choose to enter this line of work, leave us. No matter how it happens, it still hurts. Thank you Officer Forsyth, and your family for supporting you, in your efforts to help make the world a safer place!!!!!!
