You put your uniform on and went to row call just like you do everyday. Nothing was suppose to happen. But this day turn out to be the day we hope would never happened. You would not be returning back to your station at the end of your shift.
God would be calling you home today. Do not worry because GOD will be with you and your partner in heaven. Rest in peace.

I am retired from the Army, and served a total of 16 years as a civilian Police Officer. Both professions are a Brotherhood of service, duty and sacrifice. I have buried Brothers I served with in both careers. When someone falls in the line of duty, it hits hard even if you did not know them. Not only for the Service Member or Officer, but also for their families. Families can have a much more difficult time because they carry a constant worry for their loved ones who are serving, but have no control over the circumstances of their duty. Families say goodbye to their loved ones before a shift or deployment and can only hope and pray for their safety and return home. Two families in Las Vegas are suffering from the realization that their loved ones are not returning home tonight. I ask that you join me in prayer for these families. I pray not only for these Officers tonight, but also for those Brothers and Sisters who I have served with that are still serving and in harms way, that they be allowed to return home safely to their families. Honor the memories of the fallen and the duty of those still serving daily. It is said that a man has no greater love than to lay down his life for another. Too often it is taken for granted that we sleep soundly at night because their are men and women out there, who we may never meet, that are willing to do just that. Thanks for your service and sacrifice Gentlemen and may you rest in peace while others carry on.
