Police Officer Robert German,

When you made your decision to enter law enforcement some five years ago you became blessed:

For the Lord said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9 ESV

When you responded to that suspicious persons call on Saturday, March 23, 2014, you answered God's call to serve:

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 ESV

As a result, you were shot and sacrificed your life so that others might live and be protected:

And the Lord said, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 ESV

I, along with your family, friends and comrades, will mourn your sacrifice and loss in the line of duty:

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4 ESV

Now go! Rise up! And do battle against evil as an angel for the Lord!

In God's merciful love,

Pastor Steven R. Closs
Retired Captain of Police, Nashua NH Police Department
