To the wife, children, fellow law enforcement and the county that officer pine worked my thought are prayers go out to you. I'm a retired deputy sheriff in bel air md and our agency lost two officers last year. One of the deputies worked for me and was a close friend. We are with you and somewhat understand your grieving process. There are no words that I or any one else can say that will heal. Know the thin blue line remains bright for you.

Thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends and fellow agency members during this difficult time. Small world we live in, we were both from Shreveport/Bossier City, graduated from Airline High School one year apart and worked in neighboring county law enforcement agencies. RIP brother, thank you for your service to your community and may God bless and grant peace during this time. Your contributions and sacrifice for your fellow man will never be forgotten.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and being a friend of Scott's for about 15 years. We were roommates in college and I can honestly say I have never known a better man. My heart is breaking for his family, there are no words that are sufficient. This world is better for having had him in it, and I am better for having known him.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

For Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Pine:

The law-officer, and hardly anyone else, is the person who will face the criminal element of our society without hesitation and with the courage of one who is sworn to protect others. We regret that Jonathan would be the next law-officer to be slain by a thieving coward who would act recklessly, kill without reservation, and then take his own life as is usually the case for one bound for the depths of hell.
We pray for Jonathan's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him.
As a retired state trooper and a Lake County (FL) deputy sheriff, I take special pride and I feel profound sadness in render Deputy Jonathan Pine a final salute.
