I first met Officer Padron when he was an APD cadet, and I had volunteered to be a part of their DUI training, just before I retired with 27 years, from with the Austin Fire Dept.

I remember well, talking with him about the battle of Falluja, with the 5th Marines in Iraq, where I had flown 66 supply missions to assist in 2004. The smile he shares in this picture...was always on his face...it illuminated even the darkest of days. No citizen couldn't help but really like the guy...because of that smile...even if he was writing you a ticket!

To have a friend, and to be true under any and all trials...is the mark of a Man. Jaime's soul has an honored place in the great Country of Spirits

Police Officer’s
23rd Psalm :

The lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He walks me through the streets of crime,
But he gives me courage and peace of mind.
He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And he says in roman’s I’m a “minister of god”,
He leads me in righteousness as he restores my soul,
For his name’s sake he keeps me whole.
When I walk through death’s valley,
Right up to the door,
I will fear no evil,
For he comforts me more;
For thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.
He prepares a table,
Especially for me,
As I work daily among life’s enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And he anoints my position in the midst of it all.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear him say ‘well done…”
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun.

Jaime I can't remember a time that you didn't smile. You were always calm and cool. Working with you often in DTAC was fun and we always got into something. It was hard to take in this morning when I heard it was you. You will be missed by me and many others. My prayers are with your daughters, your family and with Amy. I can only imagine what she feels right now but know that she has our support and your daughters too. Rest in peace Hero!

I had the good fortune to run calls with you on at least two occasions. You were kind and courteous to everyone involved and flashed that smile of yours more than once. It's a pretty fantastic smile. My thoughts are with your family and APD colleagues tonight. All the best, mate.

It is crime for today this country to has lost a Patriot, the City lost an upholder of the law, the Department has lost a brother, and his family has lost a part of their heart.

As a citizen I thank you for your valiant service to our Country.
