Reflections for Park Ranger Margaret A. Anderson

Father God, bless this HERO Officers family with strength, peace, and comfort, that only YOU can provide. Bless the Department family as they cope with the loss. Be there, Lord, as they cry out to You in the midnight hour. Cause them to know that You are there and will never leave their side. I paise You and honor You, Lord, for hearing this prayer. In Jesus' Matchless Name, Amen.

Met some of your co-workers over the weekend in Amboy, CA. They were wearing their black band over their stars. I told them about this site and they said they had no internet, so I wanted to let you know that you are not forgotten and you are missed.

I pray for your family. RIP my sister

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family and friends. You had the watch and were struck down by a person who himself had nothing for life. You gave the ultimate sacrifice. We are all saddened, but are very proud of you. You are a hero. YOU ARE GONE, BUT WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. Allow us to carry on your watch. Rest in peace, Sister.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. God Bless you and watch over your family. As a Police Officer and mother of two myself, I know the daily struggles of balancing work and home. Though I didn't know you, I know you did your best at both jobs. It may have seemed sometimes like your hard work was without thanks on both ends, however, know that it wasn't. Your selflessness is remarkable and those who knew and loved you won't forget. My heart goes out to the family.

Ranger Anderson,

First I offer my condolences to your family and friends.

I did not know you. However I’m certain throughout your career as a NPS Ranger you wore the “Stetson” with honor and pride. On January 1, 2012 you bore its burden, no doubt, with grace and bravery.

Whenever I don mine I will remember you and the reason why this simple hat means so much to so many. As a Ranger you served to inspire and educate generations of park visitors to love and care for the park like you loved it. And as a Ranger you willingly faced various dangers, natural or human, in order to protect complete strangers. A Ranger like you makes me proud again to be a Ranger. I am humbled to be working in the same profession as you and I only hope that I will bring as much honor to the Stetson as you have done.

Rest in peace.

Supervising Ranger R. Blackburn
California State Parks
