I'm a retired Sailor, 27 years in the Navy. While I am deeply proud of my service and of the service of my fellow servicemembers and the sacrifices of the fallen, I am sometimes bothered that the same sense of public thanks and gratitude displayed toward the military is not also displayed toward our law enforcement personnel, patriots and proud Americans all.
I am deeply indebted to all the law enforcement officers of America for the long hours, the danger and the sacrifices they make to serve the public. The death of a law enforcement officer in the line of duty is as terrible as that of a military person.
My thanks to Deputy Rhyne for his service and my prayers for his family. He will not be forgotten.

USN, Retired

May God be with the Rhyne family and help give them strength to go on when they feel overburdened. Deputy Rhyne walks with the lord among so many outstanding officers and I am proud to have shared the same earth with such an individual.
