A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Rest in Peace Brother.

Though honorable, it is a very sad time when an officer dies in the line of duty. 33 years in law enforcement is a lifestyle, not just "a job". This Deputy was obviously dedicated to his work and helping people.
May his friends and family find comfort and peace.
God Bless him. God be with his family.

My prayers and sorrows go out to Deputy Rhyne's family as well as his Law Enforcement family. Deputy Rhyne was killed uselessly. He gave two thirds of his life to law enforcement and lost his life doing what he loved doing. My heart goes out to Deputy Rhyne as well as to the Sheriff and his fellow Deputies of the Moore County Sheriff's Office.

Rick was a great guy that always greeted you with a smile. I have know him since i was 12 when he was the chief at Foxfire. He helped my mother many times and had a kind heart. Hate to see this happen to such a great man.
