Reflections for Correctional Officer Buddy Ray Herron

I had the distinct privilege of meeting Buddy when we were in the academy together. He was always there with a smile and willing to help anyone who needed it. A senseless act committed against Buddy, but he was doing what he always did...helping his fellow man. Buddy will be missed and can never be replaced. All we can do is try to carry on and never let his memory be forgotten. RIP, Buddy. You served well.

Prayers go out to Officer Herron's family in dealing with their loss. Maybe this will help open the eyes of those in charge of letting these criminals out. Some just should never see society again. An unfortunate tragedy which could have been avoided. RIP Officer Herron...

My thoughts and prayers go out to this heros family. It is a horrific day and time when our fellow brothers have to not only fear for their lives inside the prison but outside as well. I certainly hope that this murderer gets all that he deserves.

I'm praying for the family that they will be able to make some sense of this horrible act. I don't know if Oregon has the death penalty, but if it does that is what this murderer should get.

When will "They" realize that these people do not belong on the streets? Try as we may, most will never be rehabilatated, it is not in thier genetic makeup. I'm sorry that this jerk was on parole my brother, and I'm sorry that you were driven to do what we do...Help others! I'm sure at this point Saint Peter has guided you through the Great Gates to start your next journey and wish you peace. We will do our best to make your family comfortable.
