To the Jones Family & Glendale Police Department:
I mourn with you over the loss of a good policeman. "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends". As policemen were are not promised safety, security, or a good paycheck but we all make this promise to each other, that we will never forget. Officer Jones is gone but not forgotten. He is now serving with Saint Michael the Archangel and his memory will be on the sleeve of every policeman that Glendale will ever employ and in the hearts of police families everywhere. Rest in peace, God speed.

Dear Father,
It was only a moment,
but
In that moment a madman walked in
In that moment the world was changed.
In that moment countless lives, were utterly altered.
In that moment our hearts began breaking.
In these moments we speak names previously unknown:
With reverence, we speak his name, Chief Painter
In a moment our line of BLUE stretched out across the nation.
That hard, fast and steady line of BLUE has been breached.
In these moments help us as we have all become a part of the
line of BLUE.
Dry our tears, comfort our broken hearts, strengthen our weaken knees, cure our confusion.
May the line of BLUE draw a circle around us pulling back our hope.
May the line of BLUE be a shield before us.
May the line of BLUE carry us into the moments of our future.
A future made sure by their sacrifice in a moment.
It was only a moment and they were gone but
we and the line of BLUE go on…

In honor of the fallen.

ASCENSION

And if I go,
While you’re still here---
Know that I live on,
Vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
So you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest,
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
…I will be there.
