God Bless you sir, may the peace and warmth of God be with your family during one of their greatet losses. Although I did not know you personally, you were yet another brother to me.

"Standing In The Way"

"God, please bless my family while I am away
I had not planned on leaving them this way
Give them peace to know that we'll be together someday
I'll wait for them, watch for them, but here I must stay

Care for my brothers that may have to pass this way
For protecting, defending others each and every day
It's a hard path, a straight and narrow way
But one that we choose; to make a difference someway

The shield may require a heavy price to pay
But I took an oath to stand in harms way
To my brothers, my friends, my family I pray
Never forget that "I Stood In The Way!"

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to this officers family, co-workers and friends. As a former Sheriffs deputy (husband) and 911 Sgt.(myself) we know the risk that are taken at the answer of each call. We also know that each officer involved in this situation that he will leave an honorable impact on his department. He passed loving what he did. We will continue praying for the family and the department, that all of you find peace and will be able to carry his memory whenever you answer a call, and know now that when you do answer a call that you have angel Schaefer there to watch over all of you.
