Reflections for Police Officer Thomas William Evans

Final Inspection
The warrior stood and faced God, Which will always come to pass, He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass.“Step forward now, old warrior, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?” The warrior squared his shoulders and Said, “No, Lord, I guess I ain’t, ‘Cause those of us who carry guns Can’t always be a saint.“I’ve had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough, And sometimes I’ve been violent, ‘Cause the world is awfully rough.“But, I never took a penny That wasn’t mine to keep. Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep,“And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear, And sometimes, God forgive me, I’ve wept unmanly tears.“I know I don’t deserve a place Among the people here, They never wanted me around Except to calm their fears.“If you’ve a place for me here, Lord, It needn’t be so grand. In life I didn’t expect nor need too much, So if you don’t, I’ll understand.”There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod, As the warrior stood quietly. For the judgment of his God..“Step forward now, my warrior, You’ve born your burdens well, Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets, You’ve done your time in Hell.

You will be missed by so many. Me, Jeremy and the kids loved you so much ! There will never be a day that goes by that we don't think of you. We will be sad for a long time over your loss but we know also that you are in a better place. I used to get onto you for not sleeping and you always told me you will sleep when you die. As a sister, a daughter, and a niece of family members in "BLUE" my thoughts and prayers go out to your family as you walk and patrol those streets in heaven. We are so proud of you for taking the "Oath" and wearing that badge with Pride and Honor. You gave the "Ultimate Sacrifice" protecting us from evil and harm. Watch over us as we continue here on earth while you gracefully take your place to stand with God. Thank you Officer Evans.

POLICEMAN’S 23RD PSALM

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind

He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans, I’m a “minister of God,”
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name’s sake He keeps me whole.

When I walk through death’s valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.

He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life’s enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, “Well done…”
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun.

Everyone with a heart knows that the slaying of Bill was senseless but no one on this side of heaven can really understand the depth of your pain. The sorrow may be overwhelming but God will give you the grace to endure. Officer Evans and Sergeant Paudert are genuine heroes. They did the job and did it well knowing that the day that they would be called to make the ultimate sacrifice might arrive. I am praying that you as a family will know God's compassion and comfort in a way that you have never known it before. Thank you for giving Officer Evans to all of us.

"I Lost a Friend Today"
By Michael Huber
Dedicated to Brian Batchelder
Bentonville P.D. And all those who Serve and Protect us from Chaos and Anarchy

I lost a friend today
I found out he has went away
He left behind this way of life
His newborn child and very young wife.

I just found out, just today
It just happened yesterday
No one knew where he had went
around a curve a tree he was sent.

I cried a tear for my friend today
We thought we both where here to stay
He was full of strenght full of pride
proud of the badge on his chest, the gun on his side.

We buried my friend today
In the church we sat to pray
they placed a medal on his chest
My friend gave his life doing his best.

I missed my friend today
His memory will not fade away
It was his honor that was true
I remember him in a line colored blue

I lost a friend today
