For Ricky:

A dog is more than a partner. I am sure many times you served as best friend, a sounding board, a confidant to hug when things got rough and a protecter for this officer and his family. Animal lovers talk about crossing the rainbow bridge when animals pass on. Have as many bones as you want in heaven, four legged friend. Godspeed

I am so sad to know that the officer and his canine partner were needlessly killed. What a loss to all of us in the community. It is my hope that a fund will be created to bring another canine to the Mishawaka Police Department. I know the officier and Ricky can not be replaced but it would be good to be able to have another canine unit on duty. Jeanne L. Paver
