Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling.

Officer Valdez,

I did not have the privilege of knowing you. Such a senseless act of violence has taken a true hero much too soon. Words cannot describe how lucky the city of Chicago was to have had you keeping our streets safe. God bless you and your family.

I AM A WARRIOR — by Jon F. Hooper
I stand with God. I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary.
I fight for those who can’t. I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the downtrodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, for I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing, for it was my honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy:
For now, I stand with God!

Blessed are the peacekeepers

I'm very sorry for your loss, the police officer faces many dangers in the line of duty ... and none so many as those with a sense of duty and commitment. I did not personally know this man but a fallen american is a fallen american and we have had too many fall already. I pray that your family resolve holds strong, and that this may be a lesson learned for those still on the beat ... there are alot of types of people out there some are harmless enough but there are some who would hurt us because of who we are, or because we serve a justice system that they do not agree with. Knowing this is the key to survival out there even for a civilian like me. May the peace of the God be with you, and may your son grace him with his presence. peace.
