At the hands of a coward with a weapon another hero is taken from us. May he rest in peace. May his family be comforted by the God of all creation and may his grace surround them during this tragic loss. Thanks for your dedicated service.

This last year has really been a tough one for Chicago P.D... Please know your federal family grieves with you as well.

May you rest in peace, Officer Valadez. I know your departmental brothers and sisters will not rest until the low life is caught who cut you down just for showing up for work yesterday.

Thank you for your service, sir and to your family go my prayers for God's help in healing your hearts.

I can't even begin to express my sympathy to the family, and friends of Officer Valadez. I did not know him personally, however, I consider him my Brother, as I do all members of the CPD. Its a shame that Officers such as Alex pay the ultimate sacrifice because of individuals that have no regard for life. Maybe what they don't know is that Alex will always live on, not just in our hearts and minds, but in the God's Kingdom. He will always be there for all of us that remain on earth. God Bless Alex.
