For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21

I remember working with Shane at the bank before either of us became police officers. We used to talk about the day we would finally complete the hiring process and become part of something great.

Shane was a true hero. He served his country and his God with intergrity and honor. He was a true man of courage, valor, and great spiritual strength.

Shane, your work on this earth is complete, and you have fought the good fight. Rest in peace my brother.

"God be with you till we meet again."

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this most difficult time. I know words cannot express the pain and loss you are feeling, but having lost my son in a line of duty death eight years ago, I can understand the scope of what you are going through. Our faith and our family was the greatest comfort that we recieved, and I know you will feel the same. Shane will never be forgotten, and your family will always be looked after by him, and by the Law Enforcement family of which you are a part.

May God Bless and strengthen you,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.

But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
We hope these simple words will help during the dark times
ahead.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

It's not often that you wake up to news that one of your closest friends has died. I had a lot of memories run through my head this morning after I heard what happened to Shane. Last December, Shane asked me if I wanted to go on a ride-a-long with him in Phoenix. My wife was afraid to let me go because she didn't like the idea of me tagging along with police officers in downtown Phoenix in the middle of the night. She made me promise to be home at a specific time. I promised. When I got home a few minutes late, my wife was awake, wanting to make sure I would get home safely. After that night I learned to really respect what Melisha had to go through every night Shane went to work. She always had to wonder what might happen while he was gone. I want to let Melisha know that many people are thinking of you and Kenzlie and are praying for you both. I want to let Cory and Jerilyn and family know that we are praying for you as well. Shane was such a great friend and was the type of person who would have done anything for anyone. I am really going to miss him, and I know a lot of people are going to miss him, but at least we know he is in a good place up with our Heavenly Father.
