I worked with Grant in the early 90's at St. Charles Co. He was always the upbeat guy on our shift and always professional but still found a way to make our 8 in jail a good 8 hours with some laughs included. I miss our shift of officers! Good memories! I'm sorry for his loss, his family's loss and our loss in the law enforcement community.

RIP brother,

Ray

Having just gone thru this only 7 months ago I can say I know how you feel. Officer Tom Ballman, Kirkwood Police Dept EOW 2/7/2008 is my son and he was shot and killed in the City Hall Massacre.
At this time you just have to have and keep faith to be able to move forward. A day at a time or even an hour at a time is all you should try for. My son left two children also and they have struggled with the death. You can certainly email me at anytime and I will be glad to hold your hand.
Another HERO goes to HEAVEN.

God Bless.

Police Officer Grant Jansen,

Our duty is hazardous and we are constantly on one of the most dangerous battlefields in the world ... a United States highway. To have died on-duty and serviing others makes you a hero. We regret the loss of a brother officer and pray for his family and friends. A final salute to you, sir, fellow soldier of the law.
