Here I am old and worn while eternally young you shall remain.
Time has taught me that the good ones are always the first to fall. The nature of the job. A policeman's lot.
I knew you were a good one when I met you, fresh from the academy.
You fought back today, I knew you would. It was not in your nature to give up. You died doing your duty, true to your oath. I knew you would. You were one of the good ones.
Today you became one of the elite. The best of the best who have gone before you. With them you shall remain, forever in our hearts.
I will miss you.

I had the opportunity of knowing Cpl. Richard Findley. I met him, maybe, 2 or 3 years ago during in-service training. During this training, you have the opportunity to meet fellow officers that you've never knew were on the department. After in-service, many of us forget the face and the name. Cpl. Findley never forgot my name. When our paths crossed, he would give me a firm hand shake followed by a hug and then would ask me how things are going. He really was a great police officer but he was also a GREAT PERSON. He will be missed by all that have known him. My prayers are with his family and friends. RIP.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, co workers and friends of Cpl. Findley. Our department suffered a loss 1 year ago and I know how hard that was. We are only 1 county over from Prince Georges County and that puts this event very close to home. I will continue to pray for his wife and 2 young daughters that will never get to see the one they love or call daddy again! God bless you Cpl. Findley

I read about this terrible loss and wanted to say how very sorry I am that it happened and he was taken from all those who love him, respect him and will miss him.
Wishing there was something I could do or say to make things better and knowing words don't mean much at this time. I don't live in Maryland any longer, and didn't know this man, but I appreciate what he did and sympathize with those who shared him with the public he served.
