Don't Cry For Me
by Jamie Scott

Don't cry for me my brother
because I am not alone.
I've gone to be with the lord
at a place I now call home.

Don't cry for me my sister.
My pain is gone at last.
God took me up to heaven
and put it in the past.

Don't cry for me my mother and father...
to you both I will always be bound.
Just know that it is god's love
hat now keeps me safe and sound.

Don't cry for me my son,
because I can't be there to watch you go through life.
Just know that I was
there the day you took your wife.

Don't cry for me my loved ones,
because we are apart.
If you want to have me near you,
all just look inside your heart.
Just a poem i found i know your walking around heaven. God bless his family and keep them safe in your arms.

What does the face of a hero look like?

The face of a hero is determined.
Determined to get the job done, determined to succeed.
It is a face which does not waver when confronting death in battle.
It is the face of a police officer. A rare, special breed.

The face of a hero is masked.
From under a helmet, sweat-soaked brows furrow in concentration.
The SWAT patch ripples with the movement of an arm.
It is an arm holding a gun. He hopes he will make it back to the station.

The face of a hero is brave.
Self-sacrifice is more than a noble idea; it is part of a daily routine.
“To Protect and To Serve” is more than just a slogan.
It is a way of life, even when those being rescued shout insults obscene.

The face of a hero is tired.
Tired of working relentlessly into overtime hours.
While the rest of the world sleeps, he must be ready to spring into action.
His body bleeds, and it aches. All he wants is a warm shower.

The face of a hero is proud.
Proud to be serving something greater than one’s self.
Every time the uniform comes on, this world is a little safer.
For his city, his country, his family, his friends...everyone but himself.

The face of a hero can be male or female.
It can be lined with wisdom that comes from years of victory and defeat,
Or fresh with the eagerness of one just out of the Academy.
But they have one thing in common, and that is the badge they wear on the street.

Sometimes...sometimes the face of a hero does not wake again.
Rather, it watches over loved ones and comrades. In Heaven, weary eyes can rest.
These heroes hold a special place in our hearts. They are valiant men and women.
To have been touched by such a hero...truly, is to be blessed.

I remember meeting you several times because you were my dad's partner for a long time. You were always so nice, with a nice smile, a memorable laugh, and you were really tall. Thanks for watching my dad's back and for being a great friend. My heart breaks for your family, and they're in my prayers.

Another hero lost. Our hearts are heavy with great sadness. You will never be forgotten. It hurts my heart to know how people have no regard for life. These men and women risk their lives, for us, people they don't even know. Without a second thought. What us families deal with everytime our mates go off to work. I never could understand how these officers lay down thier lives for people that don't even care. What a example of such a giving person, on the part of them and their families. May God embrace your and your family in this most difficult time. I just feel so crushed to know another wonderful man has lost his life. If only their were more men like you and my husband. I am so pround to know our families our part of such a awesome brotherhood.

My heart goes out to your family during this tragic time. I am so thankful that their are officers out there like you protecting our streets! You are a hero and made the ultimate sacrafice. You will never be forgotten. Below is a poem I saw when by brother in law passed away John Miller CHP EOW 11-16-07
I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face
"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with tears
We only had those few short years
The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this in mind
I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last!
(I don't know the author)
God bless your family and may you rest in eternal peace

You are a true hero and the LAPD lost one of it's very best. I remember seeing you at the academy along with the other SWAT officers and you guys are truly the best. May you rest in peace and look over the other officers of the Department. You will be truly missed not only by your loving family but by an entire community that looked up to you. Rest in peace.

Heavenly Father,
Each time I walk this long walk, I pray I might be prepared to meet any confrontation I may encounter. That I might never be the undue aggressor, never lose my tongue in anger, and always put forth my best efforts for each task.

And if ever I am called on to face the ultimate trial of life and death, that I might be victorious, in the name of all for which I stand. If not, that as I leave this world, I might drive the soul of my aggressor before me.

Amen.
God bless any may the lord watch over you.

I'm a frequent visitor to L.A from Ireland ....with family and friends in LAPD.. I wish to express my sympathy with Randy's family, colleagues and friends and with the greater community who will greatly miss such a caring and dedicated officer.
I can tell from the moving tributes that he was a man held in very high regard and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time.
