Officer Evans,

As I sit here and read about your last night, I mourn for you and your family. I know you are in a better place, but your family is still here dealing with the tragic events of that fateful December night. I will say a prayer for them tonight, and ask God to comfort them and bring peace back into their lives. I never knew you personally, but I hope to be able to live up to the example you have set. I can tell you were always willing to take charge of a situation, and help anybody you could, in any way you could, with no regard for yourself. Keep a good watch up there on those streets in heaven, and rest in peace brother. We have the watch now.

What a terrible story. There is no positive downside to this. I am so very saddened for the senseless loss of this good officer at the hands of his own brother and the senseless loss of innocent life and the injury of family members. Officer Evans now stands a post with St. Michael, as his last roll call on this earth was held. This bravery will not be forgotten. To his family who is recovering, his friends and collegaues, my sincere prayers.

Greater love hath no man than this; that he lay down his life for his friends, John 3:16

Be safe out there brother and sister officers.
