In my own grief, I've failed to keep in touch with you as I promised I would. It's hard to believe that it's only been a year since Chad left this world. I can still see Mike so clearly in my mind crying for his friend as I held him.

I know that this year has been extremely hard on you and Tyler without Chad. I admire you for being able to face each day. I admire you in so many ways. You're compassion for others is shown in your notes left on Mike's page.

As you face this next year without the man you loved so well, know that someone out here feels your pain. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please let me know.

Sitting here thinking about you, the things you use to say and do. I hear a voice calling my name, could it be you or is it because I am in so much pain. As tears roll down my face, I continue to stare out the window hoping you is there. I still wonder why you were taken from me, maybe god has another plan. We still continue to miss you daily. Tracy and Mandy went and place a christmas tree on your grave. It look really nice and I know you will appreciate it. Tyler continue to ask for you during the day as well at night. Everyone continue to struggle since you is not here with us on a daily basis. I know when God called you, Mike, and Joe he called home one of Bibb County Finest. Remember that you is loved and you will be miss dearly. I found a picture on your phone that I will cherish forever, also I forward to your mom and mandy. Deputy McDonald, a part of America died with you the day of your passing. It was truly a day of mourning for all Law Enforcement Officers when the sad news spread of the accident which took your life. May God watch over Lakeycha and Tyler, guide and protect them throughout their lives until you are reunited at the Golden Gates of heaven. May God also help the fellow officers of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office through the passing of Deputy McDonald and the most recent passing of Deputy Thomas as these are most difficult times. Thank you for your dedicated service to the community you chose to protect and those lives that you touched during your service. Rest in peace brother. To Lakeycha and Tyler, please try to find some comfort in knowing that Chad’s sacrifice and memory will never be forgotten and shall live for eternity by his brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement even though many of us were not blessed with the opportunity to know him.
