My deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and co-workers of Paul. This is an unbelievable tragedy. We just buried one of our brothers from Philadelphia, and today this happens. Why does this happen? Why does it hit the law enforcement community so hard? It angers me, and it hurts. It has to stop.Paul, you left us before your time, may you rest in peace.

Losing yet another brother in such a tragic way is always difficult. To lose one in the twilight of his career to someone already serving two life sentences is all the more senseless and heart wrenching. My sincerest condolences go out to the Rein family, the citizens of Broward County, and particularly to my brothers and sisters of the Broward County Sheriff's Office....you have endured a particularly difficult year. Hopefully earthly justice will be done swiftly, and the Governor will sign the paperwork to facilitate a quicker trip to his true judgment in front of the Almighty.
