Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer Scott Eric Bell

I had the pleasure of working with Officer Bell for a short time. We both patrolled the the same area. It did not take me long to realize he was a nice person and a hard worker. When he moved to a different location he sent me a computer message telling me he enjoyed working together and to contact him if I ever needed help with something in his new beat. He will be missed by not only me but everyone he ever came into contact with. May he rest in peace. God bless his family.

Dear Family, Friends and Co-Workers of Officer Bell,

As a survivor, each EOW notice hurts no matter who it is or where they are from. You still feel the same pain and emptiness. We are so sorry for your loss and your family will be in our prayers through this difficult time of your fresh grief. May the wonderful memories you have together carry you through this time of sadness and tragedy and knowing there are many people who care and understand bring you a measure of comfort. Not gone--just gone ahead.

I always feel sadden when one of our brothers or sisters have fallen to the very thing we are trying to prevent from happening to others. Officer Bell should recieve a Purple Heart. He was out protecting the citizens. He ultimatly took the preverbial bullet being out and patrolling for this very thing. Officer Bell gave his life on that day intentional or not. His love ones should be proud of his courage. On behalf of the Department of Financial Services Fraud Division, I send my prayers to his family and his fellow comrades. I pray for all of us who are out trying to do something right for to make this a better world.

I did have the opportunity to know Scott very well, but I knew enough about him to tell what type of person he was. He trained me a few days while I was in Phase 2. He was diligent in his work and he was always trying to help the citizens out any way he could. He loved his job and his family. He will definitely be missed within the JSO, and he will never be forgotten. The family will be in my prayers and my heart goes out to the family.
