All Give Some, Some Give All. Mayo gave all to his family, friends, brothers and sisters, and the community he served.

"Today I stand a wall, to protect, to comfort..and when I no longer can stand on that wall, one of my brothers or sisters will stand in my place..." Rest in peace my brother. Proudly, humbly, we will stand in your place.

To the family and friends of Deputy Sheriff Hilerly A. Mayo and his fellow officers with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office:

On behalf of our family, we wish to extend our deepest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered because of this tragic line of duty death.

I pray that his loved ones will be comforted by the support of your faith and your law enforcement family. There are many other survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty who share this difficult journey with you, and they too can be a source of great comfort.

Heaven has another hero today, but how I wish it were not your beloved.

This refection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished and dedicated service Deputy Mayo gave to his community and the citizens of the State of Louisiana, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on June 9, 2007.

"Oh, Lord. Hear my prayer. May I return from my shift in the same health as when I enter into it. Please give me the wisdom to perform my duties to the utmost of my abilities. Help me to stay focused and fair in my contacts with the public. Help me to always keep in mind the oath I've taken as an officer of the law and a public servant. Give me patience, strength and the ability to overcome those who seek to harm the weak and defenseless. Oh, Lord. Hear my prayer.”
