Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy First Class Hilery A. Mayo, Jr.

Hilery, I was very heartbroken to hear of your tragic death... I know that it has been several years since I have seen anyone at the STPSO but it didn't make the pain any easier to handle. Sometimes we don't know the reasons why God does what he does...especially with losing you and Beau in the same week...I am sure he needed you badly though to stand up there besides St. Michael and help to guard all our brothers and sisters. We will all miss that big smile.

I only recently heard of this memorial site, due to one of our own officers killed in the line of duty.May God hold you safely in his arms in the Heavens above. You gave the ultimate scarifice serving and protecting the citizens.I pray for your family, friends, and brother and sister officers as they mourn your loss, along with the most recent loss of your fellow officer. I am sure you were there at the gates of heaven, to walk side by side, with your fellow officer, to be gently held in angel wings, both at peace in the arms of the Lord. God Bless you Always!

Hilery and I worked for Blossman Oil Co. together in 1995. His brother,Jeff, and I went to school together. I remember him as being a kind hearted and strong willed individual. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. I feel especially sorrowful for his wife, no one deserves to lose their spouse at such a young age. God bless you all. Rest in peace Hilery.

Mayo, I remember meeting you one day when you were bringing some one in to us at the jail. We talked briefly however I could feel the warmth of your heart in your voice. Your time had come. You did whatever it was that God put you here to do. It was time to take your duty rig off so that you could recieve your Angel's Wings.
