Tony was a very good man and officer. We had lunch four hours before he died. He saw me and walked over to shake my hand. It was the last time I saw him alive. He will be missed. Pray for him, his family and the officers in Henderson County. We are hurting very bad but will survive. As Chief Dave Harris always said " There is no greater calling than that of a law officer"

To all who knew DS Ogburn I write these words with a heavy heart, just like I did to the other DS who lost his life with you, by someone who didn't give any value to the life of another person. What has happened to society today. Have we all lost our minds, our values? These two Deputies went into a situation without any type of knowledge that they would not go home to their families or loved ones after their shift. We will shed many tears and our hearts go out to all who have lost HEROES."
"A Part Of America Died"
Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

Here we are again at this memorial sight to leave thoughts and prayers to another fallen officer in the line of duty. DS Ogburn was doing his duty and another person who doesn't have any thought or value to another persons life has taken this officer away from so many that loved and knew him.

I haven't a clue how people can take the life of another it just boggles my mind.
GOD BLESS TO ALL and hopefully sometime soon this reflection and others like it can be ready and can give some sort of comfort, there are no words.

We have resided in Henderson County for many years and have the utmost respect for ALL of the law officers who put themselves in harms way each and everyday of their lives. We are greatful to these fine officers for protecting us. Some time ago, we suffered an unthinkable loss of a loved one. I know personally that our event touched and saddened the officers of Henderson County. There are three defining persons that have willingly died for you. Jesus Christ, the US Soldier and the Law Enforcement Officer. Jesus died for your eternal security. The Soldier died for your national security. The LEO died for your personal security. As Jesus now lives, so, too, shall these two other saviours. Rest In Peace Deputy Ogburn.
