Luke, there is so much left unsaid. You were a wonderful man who inspired me to believe in the good in people, even in the short time we were allotted. I will not forget you. I know that work will never be the same for me again, since I won't be seeing your adorable face coem through that door. I hope that everyone is right and you're up there still being you and looking out for your brothers in blue..and your family and friends. We all miss you dearly.

On April 26, 2007 the world lost a hero...

Off. Hoffman's family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers, but lets not forget the other officer involved. This tragedy will leave a lasting impression on not only the lives of those who know both officers, but the entire law enforcement community. We serve every day, not for ourselves, and not for our community alone--but for each other. We have strived to keep each other safe, and to ensure that each end of duty we all go home. The other officer involved needs all of the support we can offer, for most of us have never felt the amount of pain that this officer will feel. To lose a friend is to feel hurt, but to lose a friend and a fellow brother of the blue is to feel true pain.

Now more than ever, our brothers and sisters in Montgomery County need our support. To the Montgomery Co PD: Take care of your officers, for we have seen the sacrifice they've made to serve you and the community. Time cannot heal all wounds, but compassion and preservation of the memories can help mend the pain.

God Bless to all those who serve every day, and may you watch over us every day from your patrol post in Heaven.

April 28, 2007

Luke - you would not believe the outpouring of love for your family, friends and fellow officers today. I have never seen so much support. Your brothers and sisters in uniform from all over the state and even some out of state came to show you love and support. Watch over us and know that we will always remember you.

Rest in peace, Officer Hoffman.
