Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Corporal Nick Samuel Polizzotto

What an incredible amount of sadness we feel today. We will miss you. I'm sure Scott will welcome you with open arms! RIP!

April 24, 2007

South Bend has lost one of its most beloved sons. By reading the reflections that have been left it is obvious that you were a great friend, cop and all around person. You will be missed. My prayers go out to your family, friends and the SBPD. Rest in peace Nick and watch over all of your brothers in blue. They are all mourning your loss. I will always pray for the unsung heroes that walk that thin blue line.
Our community has truly suffered an injustice. We can only hope that justice will be served and the criminal will pay. Our judicial system needs to make these people held accountable for their actions.

"A Part of America Died"

Somebody killed a policeman today
and apart of America died,
A piece of our country he swore to protect
will be buried with him at his side,
the suspect that shot him will stand up in court
with counsel demanding his rights,
while a young widowed mother must work
for her kids and spend many lonely night
The beat that he walked was a battle field too,
just as if he'd gone off to war,
Though the flag of our nation wont fly half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star,
Yes, somebody killed a Policeman today,
in your home town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line,
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street
and he stands at each new rookies side,
He answered the call,of himself gave his all,
And a Part of America Died.
Here we are again with words of sorrow and prayers for those that PO POlizzotto, has left behind.
It doesn't seem like we can never say enough to help with the family and friends who knew him personally.
Maybe someday soon those that knew PO Polizzotto can come to this memorial and read what has been left.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

God speed my friend! I can't believe we leave a silent moment to remember your brother and hours later you join him. I'm sure he opened the door for you, but why? Is our city by the river that bad? Do criminals have absolutely no respect for those who protect anymore? What has this city, state and country come too? I'm not going to vent at this time of sorrow, but things need to change and we can start in South Bend. My friend go in peace and continue to protect us. You and Scott are a team again. My thoughts and prayers go to your family. Shine on brother and continue to help us through this situation again! You will never be forgotten!
