When a flad is draped over a coffin it has deep meaning like so many traditions. When it is folded 13 times each fold has particular meaning. The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

O, Almighty God, We recommend him to your loving care.

Rest in peace brother.

Officer Campbell, after reading some of the other reflections,it is very easy to see that you were greatly loved by many. This is a tremendous blessing. Thank you for you years of service to your community and your county. North Carolina has suffered the loss of yet another hero. To all the Campbell family, my prayers and sympathies go out to you at this time. God's lovingkindness will see you through this time. To the Greenville PD and the PCSO families, I am praying for you as you have also lost a family member. I pray that God will keep you all safe as you continue your watch. To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Campbell, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

JASON,

WE SPENT MANY DAYS AND HOURS TRAINING CARLOS AND MARCO, AND JUST BECAUSE THE K-9'S ARE RETIRED DOESN'T MEAN YOUR LEGACY WON'T. I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE TIMES WE SPENT TOGETHER. I LEARNED ALOT FROM YOU AND YOUR GENEROSITY. NO MATTER WHAT YOU WERE ASKED TO DO, YOU DID IT AND NEVER GRUMBLED ABOUT IT. YOU WILL BE MISSED GREATLY BY ALL OF THOSE THAT KNEW YOU. THOSE THAT DIDN'T WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT A FINE PERSON THEY NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET.

WITH LOVE AND SORROW,

Our ten years together have been great. We have shared laughs as well as tears. You have been a true friend to my family as well as the other members of the Greenville Police Department and the Pitt County Sheriff's Office. Please know that your family will be taken care of and that your memory will never diminish.
I will miss the flights we took over the city and the ones that we had planned to take. I know that you are with God now and ask that you look down over us as we continue to do the work that you so loved to do.
You were an asset to the Department and will be missed by all. Rest in peace my friend and I will see you soon......

I will always remember little Jason. As a kid, he always had a way about himself. His smile. The sincerity in his eyes. The desire to always to good.

So, Jason. Here's to the wonderful holidays we spent together and the afternoons of playing football in the backyard and 'wrastling' on the floor. We ate some good meals together at Nanny and Grandad's house, didn't we?

I know you're in heaven now. Can't wait to see you. You better be holding a spot for Unca Mitch, you hear me?!!!

Love you Jason.
