I saw your dad the other day and like I always do when I see him or your mom I started to cry realizing that they are still hurting so much..how lucky were you to have such wonderful parents & how lucky were they to have such a wonderful son. So many things have changed some you would appreciate & some Im sure would break your heart.
Keep watch over us 625 and know that you will forever be loved & missed....

Sergeant James Hardin has played a significant role in the lives of many officers through his sacrifice. Heart attacks are a recognizable line of duty death here in the state of NC. Time and fate placed Sergeant Hardin where he was needed on this given day, as he paid the ultimate sacrifice. He brought serious issues to light on how we suffer physically in a crisis situation and yet never know it. Our fallen brother's heart was where it needed to be and when it was needed. God needed a man with a good heart and he chose James. Not only do we owe a debt of gratitude to Sergeant James Hardin but also to his entire family for sharing him with Law enforcement. May your hearts be rested and your troubles be few. Always keep your memories of him close to you.

Seems like every day there is another tragedy another officer loses his life and hearing the news takes me back to the day God called you home. They say everything happens for a reason I still cant figure out why with so many bad guys running around why God keeps taking the good guys...
Miss you much.......

Heath we went to your memorial last week in Washington DC. It was a bittersweet occasion. Shelly gave daddy the red carnation to place in the memorial wreath. He was so touched by this. He said he was so nervous and sad but proud. Shelly accepted your medal of honor. We met the most wonder families. Yes that,s what we are now, survioring families linked together by the loss of our most precious children. I have attmepted to contact a survioring couple but email was sent back. Hope they read this. We were at your place of rest yesterday. Daddy is dedicated to keeping your site clean and beautiful. He seems at peace on his tractor keeping the grass cut and the grounds clean. Squirrley keeps yours flowers fresh. You are always in our minds and hearts. Your little man of the house is with us this weekend. He requested biscuts and gravey and pancakes so thats what we had for breakfast. Your name is now on the two Bridges on road 162. The only bridges on the new Hope Mills bypass. It was dedicated Jan. 11, 2008. The first ann. of your rest. Sgt. James Hardin Bridge. We also have formed the Sgt. James Heath Hardin Memorial Foundation. The foundation will be dedicated to lawenforcement because of your love for keeping the peace. Love you always. Mamma. Thanks to All who have kept your memory alive.

Hey there Heath...so I was driving across your bridge yesterday...first time Ive been there since the bridge dedication and ironically they just put up the signs...it was really sad but wonderful at the same time...sad because your gone and wonderful because now every time someone crosses those bridges they will think of you and what a wonderful man you were. Your memory will live on and you are and always will be missed. Me

Hey, its me. As you know, its your baby boys birthday today. The BIG 10. My, how much he has grown. I saw M. yesterday at the mall. We were picking out stuff to take with us up to DC. We had a really good conversation and she made me feel alot better about some things that I had on my mind. You are missed by so many people. The acts of kindness from family, friends, strangers and your co-workers will NEVER be forgotten. As time goes on, I have gained alot of clarity and truth about so many things. I have learned to accept everything that has happened. It was written long before we are born what will transpire in our lives here on earth. I still think about you everyday and will continue to do so. You live on in our children and our hearts. Like I told someone very special to us..It's through adversity character is built. This has made us all so strong . I know in my heart that you are happy for us . Yes, you are up there cheering us on and you want for us to be happy. That's just the man you were. We love you Heath !

Heath, Where do I start? I miss you man, I check on the house all the time. Well, on Monday the 21rst I got promoted and while I wish you were there in person I know that you were there, not in the back of the room but right by my side with my family. I know this because you and a few others guided and molded me into the officer and now the supervisor that I am. It is so funny when we drive over your bridges because Rachel knows that what they are and where they are. Sorry this mesasage is going to be so short, but I will write sooner next time. Me and the family will be going to D.C. this year, where you will be honored as you should be. I will write more later I miss you Heath.
