Reflections for Sergeant James Heath Hardin

Heath,
Hard to believe it's been four years. It sucks man. But everything happens for a reason, and while at first things are all blurry and you can't see why they happened, after time things come into focus and the are perfectly clear. And for some that comes sooner then later. For me I still don't understand. I've seen you mom and dad a few time, mostly passing by in opposite directions on the road. I have seen Mason a couple of times, and from what I hear Sam I growing up. Ok man, gotta go to work in this winter icy land, gotta love North Carolina "snow" storms. Until next time brother. love you man.

It is hard to believe that I have not been on here in several months, for that I am sorry. I have had you on my mind since the last Christmas party. I know my husband still misses you more than words could ever say! You can see it in his face when he talks about you. His face lights up but... there is still that look in his eyes. Life has changes and changes can make our life so very different. On that day... January 11, 2007 made so many changes for everyone that loved and knew you. That day made us realize that we can NEVER take things for granted. Thank you for watching over all of us during the last few years. Heath, your friendship is something I will always cherish. From that friendship came many more friendships... with your Mom and Dad... two people that would do anything in the world for anyone. The friendship with Shelly... one of the strongest people I know and is a friend until the end! Sam, and Mason... they are very sweet young adults... they are lucky to have Shelly and you as parents. Truly I should say those friendships are more like family! God thank you for bringing Heath into mine and my husbands life! From that gift came so many more!! Love always,
ME ;-))

Heath… I wish you were here so I could talk to you! I could rely on you when I needed advice sometimes. You could make me laugh and smile when I felt like I could not stand any more burdens. So many things have changed in ALL of our lives over the past three years. Somethings for the better and well let’s say … somethings not so great. The day you went home to be with God it brought so many of us together. Well today we have that loving bond that keeps us linked together. In some friendships that has been shattered from some of the closeness that was once shared. People change that is a fact of life… Why let that change erase the bond of the people that have loved, cared, and have been there right beside you during the good and the bad times for so many years. Life is hard enough why make it harder! Your friendship was with my husband first then we became friends. For that I will always be grateful. The two of you would act SO CRAZY at times. He misses you so much! He could find a peace in his heart after talking things over with you too! Thanks for listening! I put all my worries in God’s hands! Please look over us as we make it in this world!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 3rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of everyone who misses and loves Sgt. Hardin.

HEATH,
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN 3 YEARS. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY,I REPLAY IT ALL THE TIME.EVERYTHING FROM YOU MAKING ME STAY BEHIND BECAUSE I CAUGHT "THAT FISH, SO NOW YOU HAVE TO CLEAN IT." TO HEARING ALL THE REST OF IT OVER THE RADIO. I STILL PLAY WHAT IF. BUT THEN EVERYTIME I DO I HEAR YOU TO TELL ME STOP, AND I REMEMBER THE 3AM TALK WE HAD IN THE WALMART PVA, THE SAME DAY I TOOK THAT PICTURE OF YOU READING WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE DICTIONARY, BUT AFTER YOU PASSED IS FOUND THE PICTURE AND YOU WERE ACTUALLY READING THE BIBLE. HEATH WE ALL MISS YOU AND WHEN THE NEW GUYS START THEY WILL GET TO LEARN ABOUT YOU. YOU ARE A BIG PART OF WHO I TURNED OUT TO BE. LOVE YOU MAN!!

Hey Heath,
In 2 days it will be three years since you've been gone. Its crazy how our life's lead us all sorts of directions, people who come into our lives and make an impact.

At any rate, I'm finally at a good spot in my life. I'm happy, successful and just wanted to say that. For some reason, I always felt like I could be honest with you and sincere, like you appreciated that. I dunno...just being sentimental and all.

Anyways, I'll see you soon, just not too soon! :D

Heath, It does not seem possible that 3 years will be Monday. We really really miss you, Not a day goes by we
are talking about all the fun we had! Mason was up for the
week, and we celebrated the new year by going to bed early.
The holidays are not the same, I have not put a tree since
God called you home far too soon. But I am getting better.
At least you were able to have Christmas with Mike, Nancy,
Dad and Mom, I am sure there were great parties, you know what I mean. Please never forget, you are our only son, and
we thank Big Harold and MaMa for sharing you with us! As you already know, MaMa says we are Mom and Dad #2. We are so proud of you, keep up the good work, remember its time to keep a close eye on Samantha she is turning the big 16 this month,3 days after your anniversary. We miss you very
much. Mason has told me he has a great time talking to you,
so please make time in your busy schedule to continue to have those visits. I am jealous you have not visited me yet.
